Litar ujian ini merupakan salah 1 daripada program plan 5 tahun Lotus. Lotus yang memang terkenal dengan “ride & handling” terbaik di dunia ini dapat menggunakan litar ini untuk menambahbaik teknologi yang sedia ada. Nampaknya Proton boleh la tumpang sekaki test model akan datangnya nanti. Ini dah macam litar lumba mini untuk pengeluar kereta, litar Top Gear pun Lotus yang tolong design sebenarnya. 🙂

    dalam forum protonownersUK . Ada sorang dari Proton UK marketing bagitau kemungkinan gen2-R akan diimport ke UK pada 2013. So nampaknya macam ada liftback ler nanti.

    dan oleh kerana thread ni berkait dgn Lotus.. maka kat link nih ada disebut pasal lotus dok buat engine v8 sendiri yg output lebih baik dari toyota v8 yg mulanya depa nak sumbat dalam esprit … dan engine ini juga lebih kecil dan lebih ringan.

    According Lotus Chief Technical Officer Wolf Zimmermann, the Ethos citycar was only agreed two days before it was presented to Auto Express. Though detail is scarce, it’s being tipped to use a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder hybrid engine, capable of returning more than 60mpg. Amazingly, this engine could also find its way into an Evora… The front engined car Ethos will offer room for four passengers, and will be built alongside a Proton equivalent, possibly at Proton’s factory in Perak, Malaysia

  • lotus ethos pkai engine 1.2l 4 silinder,xsilap aku, mcm engine family y yg the king ckp. Mgkin sbb tuh delay sampai 2014 emas. Pasal gb br, aku dpt info kalu manual pkai 5 mt dr getrag. Bila tanya xpkai 6 mt, diaorg dh test dua2 gb, tp 5 mt lebih suit utk engine iafm plus, n satu lg sng r3 nak tune coz yg 6 mt bleh trime tork yg rendah jer, 5 mt bleh tinggi sampai 350++ tork dia. 6 mt sesuai untuk cfe jer coz tork capai awal, xmcm iafm plus, nanti letih duk tkr gear. Tp sbb faktor cost, prtn xmampu nak develop dua2 gb untuk mt. Pemilihan cvt drpd normal at coz prtn plan untuk enjin hybrid skali. Normal at xsesuai pkai untuk engine hybrid. Exora turbo delay bkn coz overheat engine,tp cat converter n paip ekzos dia overheat bila high speed dlm tempoh masa yg lama. Diaorg tengah testing new material or new coating for the exhaust system. Ni org qc prtn bgtau, xtaula btl@x,puas gak nak korek rahsia. Ada info mcm sama mcm info sblm ni,mgkin btl kot.


  • satu lg, ini info xrasmi sebab persepsi org berbeza, iafm plus 1.3 dikatakan performe mcm kebanyakan engine 1.5 lain2 kete, coz tuh letak kat saga. Target performance vios n city. Yg saga 1.6 masih pakai iafm lama,sehingga tiba masa ganti ngan iafm plus. 1.6 iafm plus target performance altis 1.8 n civic 1.8 becoz target weight persona r lebih krg civic. Cfe target performance altis 2.0 n civic 2.0(bkn type r). Walupun power engine masih lg dalam range engine dia, mcm 1.6 iafm plus katanya lebih krg cps jer output dia, tp target tork 90 percent achieve at 2k rpm, n minimise power lost of transmission dgn pkai cvt punch n mt dr getrag. Depa tgh bz skarang refine engine tuh,nak bg semaksimum yg bleh pada masa yang sama improve fc 10 percent plus minus engine yg sedia ada. Pheonix project improve efficiency in town driving pd low rpm, bkn pd high rpm n improve fc. Katanya, cps lagi power dr iafm plus bila rpm 4k keatas, tp iafm plus lebih power dr cps pd bwh 4k rpm. Euro 5 katanya. Family y euro 6 keatas. Ni info yg xrasmi,so jgnlah expect tinggi sgt. Sedang2 dah ler, nanti keciwa :-), ha…ha…apa2pn, best of luck proton. Satu lg,iafm plus, system dia berbeza ngan iafm skarang,katanya iafm perform lebih awal dr sblmnnya. Hamba xphm apa maksud dia. Sekian.


  • the nearest to evaluate proton engine and gearbox combination is the up coming iafm+ cvt.
    i m eager to test it. if it very good i will urge people to buy this. i will do what ever to prove it and ill drag them to the showroom for a test drive ,especially to a die hard foreign brand.


      • banyak kawan saya beli myvi viva, kerana QC perodua lebih baik dan lebih jimat petrol ….

        mereka tak pendulikan harga myvi dan viva lebih mahal compare with saga


  • btl, lebih jimat myvi dgn saga skrg,tp persoalannya berapa jimat? Kalu saga rm50 bleh jalan 300km, myvi bleh jalan 350km dlm bandar, beza xsampai rm10. Kalu sminggu skali top up minyak, sbulan 40, setahun rm 480, 10 tahun 4800, saga 1.3 exec 43k, myvi amiklah yg pertengahan, 53k, itu sudah 10k difference. Ada ker yg pakai myvi sampai spuluh tahun? Kalu nak cover minyak,lebihan 10k tuh bleh cover saga sampai 20 tahun, br sama ngan rega myvi. Maaflah,mgkin saya terlalu kira detail coz dulu2 ngaji degree akaun. Tp bpk saya punya blm, in town dalam 300km ke 330km bleh g,yg penting jg maintenance ngan baik. Itu jer. Kalu long distance, bleh g 350 ke 400km per rm 50, bergantung pd kaki kananla, aritu bwk average 120kmh, g balik ktn nilai, rm 50 dpt 360km, by the way,its auto.


  • Saga RM50 can go 300km, MT sure can reach 300km but AT only 2++km (information from saga club) KL

    Saga RM 50 = 26.3L = 300km ~ 1L = 11.4km (RM1.90 = 11.4km)

    Myvi RM50 for AT sure can reach 350km, MT can reach 400km (information from myvi club) KL

    Myvi RM50 = 26.3L = 350km ~ 1L = 13.3km (RM1.90 = 13.3km)

    Saga 1L = 11.4km ~ 1000km = 87.7 L = RM 166.63 (1.90)

  • yup,between 10 to 20 percent roughly. I dont want to compare with japanese counterpart becoz of diff tax structure,so just compare with myvi. U only can save money if the price is only 10 percent diff or below,if not,its not worth it. I agree that myvi seems to have better trim n fit n finish compare to saga. In term of material, i think the same, only the colour scheme make it look better which i believe proton shud learn from produa. On engine part, it seem that myvi is a little responsive due throttle cable which is minimum lag, n better fc, but only by small margin. Unless myvi using new toyota engine,which is better. By the way, if i not mistaken, when gen2 eve been exposwd to the public, lotus gave out test data if campro mate with cvt from punch, it will translate 15 percent better fc from mitsu auto n 5 percent better than mitsu manual n 5 percent reduction on co2. That is only with cvt alone mating with old campro. That was in 04 or 06. During that time,cvt was still cost a bomb. Now its 2011, so the cvt is more refine n campro engine has been evolved to the new height. I believe that will be on par with current japs engine in malaysian market, if not better i hope. So let us pray for their success


    • i myself do not know what is iafm+, some say its vvt added…
      if that so ,then proton is at par with japs engine at least for now. and a good point cvt will be in the mainstream proton which produa has yet not.

      we hope that someone will give us some hint about that (+) ,engineeringly means. if proton give a littlt breif about the + feature ,i beg many will wait instead of buying myvi ,because proton is actually a perfect choice to accommodate family , balik kampung , and bringing with friends for outing.
      if the engine delivers. then it would be a very perfect package for peoples car. not LAGI BEST but PALING BEST.


  • Proton should change the Interior design, Where the designer of Waja ? the interior of waja is the best in all Proton car ….

    I cannot wait saga IAFM+ with CVT …..i have a question, I wan to ask the saga MT version will change to getrag gearbox also ?


  • david,itu info saga club, ni info kete ayah aku sendiri, at senang2 dpt 300km. Long distance ikut speed limit bleh dapat 400km. Cume sy jenis bwk xikut speed limit,kadang2 je ikut. Yg tuh long dpt 350 je, bwk 120-140kmh. Kdg2 mgkin berbeza fc coz cara pemanduan n cara maintain kete. Minyak itam pkai fully 5w 40, rata2 dlm saga club pkai mineral@semi 10w30 atau fully 15w50. Kete ayah maintain branch protn sc. Kete sy sendiri,waja campro 07, 50 sng2 dpt 250km dlm bandar,itupun bwk agressif, kalu bwk sedate,bleh g sampai 300km,auto. Hebat btl minyak myvi auto, dapat 350km senang2 town driving coz my manual savvy, town driving, 350 aggressive-400km sedate driving dlm rm50. Kalu gitu myvi patut menanglah fuel efficient award, tp x. Member2 sy yg bwk myvi auto, hanya yg btl2 berhemah jer dpt 350km rm 50. Long distance confirmla dapat. Mmg minyak akan naik, tapi still bleh cover spuluh tahun punya minyak.baik 10k different simpan kat asb ker, spuluh tahun jd 20k, xgitu.


    • i have a friend who drive a saga , once i accompany her for an occasion.
      she said 50 ringgit her car can get 250km. mix mode driving and the kind of driving style is not sedate nor too aggresive as she catches with everyday traffic which she call it ‘normal’ for everyday use. and if she go back for a holiday the car returns 350km for a 50 ringgt of fuel. she said,

      but i know she is no sedate driver, good looking as well, i wish…………


  • bro,sy amik rega saga fl versus new myvi, beza dia cume saga xda abs, yang lain sama, 4 power windows, 2 airbags. Mmg bgs myvi ada abs, tp kita xbleh nafikan active safety features mcm lotus ride n handling plus additional boot, not only for comparment, but also helping out during collision compare to compact car. So for me, fair n square.


  • yup,i agree waja has the most beutiful interior in protn line, but the fit n finish is quite poor bcoz i own one. But now, fit n finish is better like in exora,but the design is okay only. Luckily the change the interior to the darker one in exo. Persona r i think will have the most elegance interior in prtn line up, kapit dashboard, its nearly similar design with bmw dash,only material of course cannot match bcoz of price diff. Hopefully it shock us when see it in metal.


  • Last two week I had a chance to test drive Sonata YF..dashboard, interior quality is very good. And the panoramic roof just simply awesome. And now Perdana has been removed from Proton’s stable. So no other premium car from Proton that can take Camry, Teanna or Accord…..
    Anyway lets hope Persona R will be delivered in a very exciting way inside out. Not just the external body, but also interior design should emulate the new Sonata or Audi….just don’t be to safe and to boring like Vios.
