  • dok teka dlm grafik…mcm mat jenin..
    nak lancar tak pun..
    bodo betui..
honda city sat ja 10 ribu unit..

proton tukaq owner pun masih terkial kial…
    apa la hampa ni…

    • yup betul tu asik nak main design selamat selamat jer last2 tak laku…. kalo nk buat sport buat betul2 sport..kalau nak nmp mewah buat betul2 mcm mewah…..ni design yg sedia ada tgk pun tak rasa mcm nak beli…beli pun pasal kereta lain rakyat malaysia ramai tak mampu…

  • dulu masa suprima masih lagi bebungkus, aku harap sgt2 proton boleh buat gempak dengan rekaan bontot yg spoty tapi tgk je lampu belakang dia, hampa betol, mcm ketinggalan zaman la, harga pulak terlalu mahal utk sebuah kereta yg ada imej buruk sbb terlalu banyak masalah dengan model2 sebelumnya. preve pun sama, lampu belakang mcm keja lukisan bdk sklh menengah yang tak siap je. kali ni tgk pulak lampu belakang gsc ni, aku harap org2 proton ni lbh banyak buat homework utk pastikan gsc ni terkehadapan pada rekabentuknya… jgn lupa jgk perbaiki kualiti…. plezzzzz sgt2 la proton KUALITI……

        • Mmm.. sapa melenting? Tanya pun dicop melenting? Peerrgghh… Beri pencerahan sket bleh? Ker mmg x bleh terima kritikan balas?:P

Ok. Ye ke?, Mgkin sy silap pasal segment tu. Then senaraikan la model C segment hatchback kat M’sia nie yg ko tau, bleh? Then, soalan yg sama; berapa pula data jualan model2 nie di pasaran m’sia. ada sapa2 tau? Dan kalau sapa2 tau gak berapa data jualan suprima s nie? Patutnya buat la nilaian jualan suprima nie dlm segment jualannya. Baru ar bleh rumuskan prestasi penguasaannya dlm market. Nie setakat buat rumusan memperlekeh main sembur2 jer tentu sahaja tidak membantu proton dlm memperbaiki model2 barunya.

Cuma konklusi yg bleh dibuat adalah jualan suprima S nie tak mencapai target jualan syarikat. Same goes to preve, target jualan awal DSZ dulu masa pelancarannya 4000 unit sebulan. Tapi rata2 jualan dlm 2k++ sebulan. X mencapai target tapi still C segment mid sedan yg popular dlm kelasnya. Ye tak? dan sesuai dgn pengiktirafan anugerah 2014 Frost & Sullivan M’sia baru2 nie; Value-for-Money Car of the Year (1.3l and Above) – PROTON PRÉVÉ.

Sy x kisah sapa2 pun nk kritik proton secara membina. Asalkan proton ada ruang input utk proton memperbaiki kelemahan yg ada. Cuma bila beri pandangan tu biar ar nampak logik n realistik. Nie main petik2 bintang di langit, mmg bola tanggung ar jawabnya…:P Sorry.

          Cheers!

Please proton.. u need to do a lot in marketing. janganlah hanya perkenal model SE, LE yg rata2 disasarkan untuk golongan muda walhal golongan2 muda ni tak ramai yg mampu beli spec tu.

    • setuju,
sepatutnya leather seat bkn untuk model LE sahaja, sbb saya x suka rim n bodykit dia..
tp kalau dapat keluarkan preve facelift secepat mungkin lagi baik
seat suprima memang ok, tapi x berbaloi nak dapatkan model itu semata-mata sukakan leather seatnya. Design agak mengecewakan. Sepatutnya design suprima lebih hampir kepada ford focus dan bukan lebih kepada kereta station wagon.

  • Jgn mengharap lebih2 sgt dgn proton ni.. nanti kecewa mcm Suprima.. kita impressed lawa2.. ala global.. tp entah apa Proton finalized nanti…. launching terlewat..kalau nasi dah basi dan naik kulat bertampuk dah…

Leather seat pun Proton xyh letak lah pd premium model..kalau xboleh jahit elok2 trim seat tu…. pakai fabrik jer lah.. keras semacam.. nk tiru kemewahan brand lain tp buat tak cukup makan.. hmmm Proton.. bilakah mau insaf..

pity to proton: saga SV only give net profit below RM500.

  • Competition from foreign car makers, poor public perception, lack of economies of scale and the high cost of manufacturing vehicles locally are the reasons behind Proton’s drop in vehicle sales, said Proton chairman Tan Sri Mohd Khamil Jamil to the Business Times yesterday.

According to the business daily, Proton cars are currently sold in more than 25 countries but revenue contribution from export sales remains below five per cent.

Data compiled by the Malaysian Automotive Association puts Proton’s total vehicle sales in Malaysia for 2013 at 138,753 units, with a total market share 21.2 per cent (or 24.1 per cent of Malaysia’s total passenger cars market). This was down from 22.5 per cent in 2012 and 25.9 per cent in 2010.

This was despite the fact that Proton has introduced two new global models; the Proton Preve and Suprima S.

The Proton chairman told Business Times that competition from foreign car makers and public perception has caused total vehicle sales to drop.

Khamil said, “Proton is for everybody. Many urbanites are buying Proton cars as they believe in the product and technology. But still, there are people who say our cars are expensive as they are locally produced. It is quite impossible to lower car prices with the rising costs of doing business.”

He also lamented on the lack of support from Malaysians to buy Proton products. “Look at the Japanese and how they are supporting their carmakers. Another example is South Korea, which supports local players like Samsung and Daewoo. I don’t understand why Malaysians are not supporting Proton,” said Khamil.

He also added that without sufficient economies of scale, it is difficult for Proton cars to be priced competitively, adding the nett profit of a Proton Saga SV is a shockingly low, below RM500.

Khamil says Proton is looking to lower its cost base by promoting greater standardisation of the automotive parts used.

“This will give us economies of scale which will eventually lower costs. Our profits are shrinking with rising costs. For the new Saga SV 1.3, the nett profit is below RM500 and it is shocking,” he said.

The business daily also adds that Proton hopes to increase exports by focusing on its core markets – the United Kingdom, Australia and Egypt, but did not elaborate any further.

Last Wednesday, the business daily also quoted Proton’s adviser Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as saying, “The presence of Lotus in China will contribute to developing Proton in the Chinese market. However, to enter the Chinese market, we need to manufacture the cars in China and that will involve huge capital investments. We are looking at partnerships.”

Presently, Proton’s namesake brand has no direct presence in China. It sells completely knocked down (CKD) kits of the Gen.2 and Persona to Chinese carmaker Youngman, who then sells the models under the Lotus brand, as the Lotus L3 GT and Lotus L3 respectively.

Youngman also sells three more models developed in collaboration with Lotus Engineering (not Lotus Cars) – the L5, L5 GTS and T5. The rights to these three models belong to Youngman and not Proton.

Earlier this year, our sister publication, Carlist.my’s Automotive Industry Review Issue 002 took a look at Proton’s export ambitions. Proton aims to export 150,000 cars by 2018. You can download a copy for free here.

Below is a summary of Proton’s recent export initiatives:

    Export Targets

In 2010, the company announced in their annual report that its export volume was forecasted to more than double to 40,000 cars by the end of financial year ending in March 2011. The managing director at the time also said that Proton aimed to export 50 per cent of its total production (up from 24 per cent).

By March 2011, Proton’s exports grew by only 10 per cent and Proton’s export volume has more or less remained at the same level since 2010.

    Entry To India

In December 2009, Proton announced that it would be entering the lucrative Indian market by 2011. This did not materialise.

    Export Targets for Thailand

When launching the Proton Preve in Thailand in November 2012, Proton announced that it will raise its sales targets for 2013 to be ‘upwards of 3,000 units.’ The company sold only 697 cars in 2013.

That’s a shocking 79 per cent drop from 2012’s 3,305 units, and an 87 per cent drop from its peak of 5,530 cars in 2010.

Distributor Phra Nakorn Automobile Group also told us that ‘not much has happened’ since the formation of Proton Cars Thailand, which we understand is now inactive. Phra Nakorn is now concentrating on selling Honda cars.

    Export Targets for Australia

When Proton launched the Preve in Australia in October 2012, the company raised its sales target for 2013 from 2,000 cars to 4,000 cars. This was despite the fact that Proton was already seriously underachieving in its calendar year 2012’s targets, ending the year 50 per cent below target.

Data from Australia’s Federal Chambers of Automotive Industries showed that Proton ended 2013 with only 611 cars being sold, 40 per cent lower than 2012.

Proton’s sales in Australia peaked in 2007, when it sold 2,336 units. 36 per cent of the sales were contributed by the Arena, followed closely behind by the Savvy.

      • Proton tak berubah mengikut kehendak pasaran so just been ignored laa.. sama mcm kita pergi hypermarket nak beli barag2 keperluan rumah.. apa yg ada dlm minta kita semasa membelek2 rak utk beli keperluan? seperti kicap, sos, jus buah atau apa shj yg diperlukan..basic desire.. SESUAI dan MEMENUHI CITARASA KITA…ade org pegi beli kicap yg dia mmg tk suka ke semata2 nk save company kicap tu? bodoh kot.. kecualilah betul2 ada semangat nk selamatkan industri pembuatan Melayu.Islam.. itupun skala yg kecil..

Memenuhi kehendak kita atau kita takkan beli brand tu.,. so skrg ni Proton punya style.. dia ‘paksa’ customer ikut rentak dia.. bukan dia yg ikut rentak pasaran.. dh basi dh nk bincang bab ni 15 tahun dlu sepatutnya Proton dh settle the market demand needs.. asyik syok sendiri.. highlight safety 6-airbag tp dh customer xnk itu sbg value for purchase.. so Proton kena fikirlah saingan mereka apa yg tawarkan sehingga boleh divert minat pemebeli? then solve within that scope, Bila Customer komplen anggap itu small matter.. wpun kes signal stalk sblh kiri tu terlalu remeh bg Proton atau no effect at all.. namun sapa tau hakikat sbnr bg pembeli?

masa nk derive model dan specs tk pikir dlu ke market demand..lepas tu xdelah syok sendiri.. then selling down.. pastu nk salah siapa? kedai makan kalau sedap harga mahal pn org sanggup berduyun masuk makan..

price tag is not the main point..if that meets the desire specs.. berapa banyak keta recond japan dh pakai lenjan di Jepun…refurbish kasi kita.. tp berlambak2 org kita sanggup invest beli.. sbb apa? branded? taste? ya kenapa suatu brand itu diminati? tkkan celik2 mata terus diminati? mesti ada kaitan dgn back track record.. so apa track record Proton bg kita?? excellent?? pampered??annoying?

Proton spt biasa..hidup dlm dunianya..spt budak AUTISME.. dia dlm dunianya.. yg masuk bakul puji diri.. then harap pujian tu sama dr luar.. pencinta2 Proton pulak akan bebal jika lihat komen2 pedas.. mulalah keluarkan alasan2 stereotaip.. memualkan.. tkpayh defend lah kt sini xde impact apa pun utk jualan Proton melainkan management Proton perlu di Overhaul.. pengurusan sumber manusia dlm Proton yg gagal mencapak kehendak global market automotif.. wpun potensi engineer dan designer serta operator kilang itu tidak rendah…

        • Aku tak rasa yg Proton buat kereta tak ikut market trend. In fact aku rasa sbb Proton lah market trend utk Malaysia skarang dah shift, at least utk safety features (in addition to gov Asean NCAP intitiative). E.g. sebelum Preve and Suprima, Honda ngan Toyota xde pun nak offer sampai 6 airbags, ESC, TRC bagai, even utk top spec for each model pun xde. Tp skarang dah nampak Honda City dah start offer comprehensive safety package utk top spec. Toyota Corolla Altis pun dah start ade, walaupun airbags x byk, Camry pun abes byk 4 je utk top spec die. Hyundai i40 siap sampai 9 air bags. Agak2 kalau Proton x keluar model yg ade comprehensive safety package camtu sampai kesudah kite dpt kereta kosong je.

Kalo nak compare specs segment-to-segment (x kisah class segment atau price segment) mmg menang Proton (utk Proton model baru2 je, model lame x kire..hehe). Menunjukkan mmg Proton ade tgk carmakers lain, and offered the same things plus a lot more utk offer value for money cars.

Tapi aku x setuju ngan Dato Khamil yg buat statement macam memaksa org utk support Proton. Definitely not a salesman statement. Byk lg die boleh buat utk recover brand image Proton yg dah bertahun merudum dek perbuatan mrk sendiri. E.g. safety is their main selling point, tp dlm tv and paper ad campaign highlight pasal safety skit je. Dlm ad higlight lebih kpd superficial features (DRL, parking sensor, GPS etc). Pastu lg satu indicator of Proton’s failure in marketing their new products, ramai layman yg x tahu yg Proton skarang pakai enjin Turbo utk Suprima, Preve and Exora.

        • Ermm.. dh agak daah…
          defensive..

DRB xde capacity lgdah utk develop Proton..then sbb tu org plg besar dia dh mcm org lost effort.. the DRB..
lepas berjaya singkirkan DSZ the so-called iconic CEO..satu2nya CEO Proton yg plg effective dan energetic sesuai dgn keadaan Proton.. Tun M pun kurang ‘berkenan’ dgn DSZ.. xtau sbb apa yg munasabah.. so DRB nk bawa Proton ke mana lepas ni?

ikutlah.. untung sabut TIMBUL.. untung batu TENGGELAM.. nasib kau lah Proton.. dilahir dlm komunti bangsa yg tiada istiqamah..

    • Mmm… itulah cabaran besar yg perlu dihadapi bila mula menerajui company yg pernah melalui zaman silam yg kelam; Memulihkan persepsi, mengembalikan kepercayaan n meyakinkan produk kininya jauh lebih baik berbanding dulu. X bleh gak nk salahkan ceo baru nie gak atas luahannya akan senario proton sekarang. Sebab tu perlunya pengarah urusan ikonik seperti DSZ utk memikul tugas berat nie. Bukan setakat mengeluh kat analisis data2 jualan semata tetapi dah start n tahu bertindak. Org yg mmg nk lihat proton sebagai ikon industri automatif negara jatuh, mmg bleh brkata apa saja. Insyallah, teruskn berusaha:) Pasti ada jalannya. Berani berubah ye;)

      Cheers!

    • Suprima S Aku tgk ok je blkg dia.. lbh kurang ford cuma beza bhgn lmpu je.. kalau nk sama betul mcm lexus mna boleh bang.. copyright.. kena terima lah..
